Good toast motion clarifies that a new event entered the interface. The stack stays bounded, initial decorative examples stay silent, user-triggered additions announce once, and every visible notice can be dismissed.

Three-step workflow

How to use the Toast Stack studio

  1. Place the queue

    Pick a corner or centered lower stack that avoids primary navigation and critical form controls.

  2. Choose density and staging

    Set two to four visible notices, then tune finite entrance time and stagger without delaying the message.

  3. Test announcement and dismissal

    Add several notices, tab to each close button, dismiss out of order, and check narrow-screen containment.

Questions, answered.

Do the initial examples announce on page load?

No. They are visual samples. The polite live region remains empty until a user-triggered notification is added.

Does it auto-dismiss messages?

No. The exported baseline prioritizes reading control and explicit dismissal. Add product-specific timeouts only when they are appropriate.

Can the queue grow forever?

No. The chosen visible limit is enforced before a new notification is appended.

What changes for reduced motion?

New notices appear immediately without entrance animation; announcement and dismissal behavior stay unchanged.
